Cointelegraph reported that Coinbase transferred a prediction market-related lawsuit, filed by New York State Attorney General Letitia James, from state court to federal court. Coinbase Chief Legal Officer (CLO) Paul Grewal stated on X on the 22nd that "this case involves core issues of federal law, and federal law preempts state law." Attorney General James had filed a lawsuit the previous day against Coinbase Financial Markets and Gemini Titan, alleging that "the two companies' prediction market products violated New York gambling laws by providing sports, entertainment, and election betting services without a state gaming license."
