The Thai Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is pushing for regulatory reforms that would allow cryptocurrency companies to offer derivatives through existing legal entities, Cointelegraph reported. Regulators are gathering feedback on a proposed rule amendment that would allow crypto businesses to directly apply for a derivatives license without the need to establish a separate legal entity. This is expected to lower barriers to entry into the derivatives market and bring related activities under stricter regulatory oversight. The SEC stated, "The amendment will provide investors with additional tools for hedging and portfolio management, and help align the standards of derivatives exchanges and clearinghouses with international practices."
