US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent attended a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing and urged Congress to pass the Cryptocurrency Market Structure Bill (Clarity Act). According to U.Today, he emphasized, "The United States must play a leading role in the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency sector. It is very important for the US to take a leading role in the financial world, whether it's the banking system, securities, and now cryptocurrency, for various reasons. If that happens, all other countries will follow." He added, "US leadership in the cryptocurrency sector is essential to maintaining the dollar's global hegemony."
