The U.S. Treasury Department announced new sanctions related to Iran through its official website. Previously, Tether, the issuer of USDT, the world's largest dollar-pegged stablecoin, stated that it had frozen over $344 million in USDT held in two addresses in cooperation with the U.S. government. The U.S. Treasury Department explained that these addresses are linked to the Iranian government, and freezing them constitutes a new sanction.
