Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on the 25th that Türkiye could consider participating in mine clearance operations in the Strait of Hormuz if the United States and Iran reach a peace agreement. Following the agreement, technical teams are expected to carry out mine clearance work in the strait, and Türkiye explained that it views such operations as a humanitarian responsibility in principle, thus having a positive stance. However, Fidan added that Türkiye would reconsider its position if this multinational technical coalition were to become a party to a new conflict in the future. Minister Fidan also stated that issues related to Iran's nuclear program could be resolved at the upcoming meeting in Pakistan.
