[Cartoon] "Cryptocurrency Scams Become More Sophisticated with AI Advancement"
CryptoSlate warned that as artificial intelligence (AI) advances, cryptocurrency scam methods are becoming more sophisticated, requiring increased vigilance. The outlet explained, "According to a tip from the founder of a cryptocurrency project, he was hacked after falling victim to a deepfake scam impersonating a Cardano (ADA) Foundation official. The hacker impersonated a Foundation official with whom the victim had previously communicated and requested a video call. During the call, both the voice and face matched the victim's memory. However, the call connection was not smooth, and a message appeared stating that a Microsoft Teams (video conferencing platform) update was required. The problem was that even the tech-savvy victim naturally accepted this situation and was exposed to hacking while proceeding with the actual software update."
