According to a report by U.S. media outlet Axios, citing one U.S. official and two sources, Iran has put forth a new proposal to the United States: prioritize negotiations on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and lifting the naval blockade, and postpone nuclear talks until later. This proposal is seen as an attempt to break the current negotiation stalemate and to circumvent internal disagreements within the Iranian leadership regarding the scope of nuclear concessions for an agreement with the Trump administration. Meanwhile, according to three U.S. officials, President Trump is scheduled to hold a Situation Room meeting on the 28th (local time) with his senior national security and diplomatic advisors to discuss Iran. One of the officials stated that the meeting is expected to discuss the stalemate in negotiations with Iran and the possibility of future military action.
