Acting Inspector General Hurst of the US Department of Defense stated at a Senate hearing that new funds for military assistance to Ukraine were not included in the DoD's budget proposal for fiscal year 2027. When a senator asked for confirmation if Ukraine aid was not included in the budget, Acting Inspector General Hurst replied, "That's correct. USAI (Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative) funds are not included in this budget," Russia's Sputnik news agency reported.
