LayerZero CEO Bryan Pellegrino refuted KelpDAO's claims regarding the rsETH security incident via X. Citing on-chain records, he stated, “KelpDAO directly changed the rsETH cross-chain settings from the default multi-DVN structure to a ‘1:1 single DVN’ mode in April 2024.” He further explained, “LayerZero's official documentation has warned against using this setting in a production environment, and the team has consistently recommended using a safer multi-sig structure.” Pellegrino added, “Most of the related transactions during the 1:1 structure's operation occurred with rsETH,” and that they are currently awaiting the final audit report from an external security firm.
