Coinbase is embroiled in a lawsuit seeking the return of frozen assets related to the theft of $55 million in DAI, Cointelegraph reported. According to a complaint filed in a San Francisco federal court, the hacker allegedly laundered the stolen funds through Tornado Cash and then deposited some of them into Coinbase. These funds are currently frozen by Coinbase. The plaintiff claims to be the rightful owner of the frozen assets and has filed a lawsuit against Coinbase for the return of the funds. An unidentified individual, presumed to be the hacker, is also named as a defendant in the lawsuit. Coinbase has reportedly acknowledged holding the funds and stated that a court decision is necessary to unfreeze them.
