Online media Semaphor: "Qualcomm, Blackstone, Citi, Visa also included in the list"
U.S. President Donald Trump has invited CEOs of major domestic companies such as Nvidia and Apple to join him on his visit to China as part of his delegation, online media Semaphor reported on the 7th (local time).
CEOs of tech giants including ExxonMobil, Boeing, Qualcomm, Blackstone, Citigroup, and Visa were also included in the list of invitees for President Trump's delegation to the U.S.-China summit on the 14th-15th.
A source familiar with the matter said that President Trump recently met with corporate CEOs and, on the spur of the moment, said, "See you in Beijing," stimulating their 'FOMO' (Fear Of Missing Out).
The recommendation of the delegation for the visit to China is reportedly being led by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Jamieson Greer, and U.S. Ambassador to China David Perdue.
However, the media assessed that President Trump's visit to China is less commercial in nature compared to last year's Middle East tour, where many business people participated and achieved investment results, and is rather focused on fostering the relationship between President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The commercial achievements the U.S. is expected to gain from this visit to China are estimated to be around the sale of U.S. soybeans and Boeing aircraft.
Sources previously reported that China has decided to resume purchases of U.S. soybeans and is requesting multi-year parts warranties from the U.S. in connection with a contract to purchase 500 wide-body aircraft from Boeing.
