Layer 1 blockchain Sui (SUI) announced via its official X that it has completed the recovery of its mainnet outage, and transactions are currently being processed normally. In this regard, Sui explained, "The outage occurred during the deployment of long-term fixes applied to the mainnet the previous day. During the process of validators restarting to deploy a new binary, the randomness initialization procedure performed at the start of each epoch could not be completed. This procedure requires a higher quorum standard than Sui Network's consensus mechanism. Subsequently, due to a bug in how the failure state was preserved, the network could not proceed to the next epoch. Validators have applied fixes that normalize both the bug and the affected epoch, and the network is now operating normally."
