The Block reported that shares of Bitcoin miners expanding their AI data center businesses rose as the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) approved a new framework to reorganize the grid connection process for large power consumers. Cipher Digital rose more than 10% on the day, hitting an all-time high, while Core Scientific and Riot Platforms also rose more than 3% and 2%, respectively. The media explained, "Bitcoin miners, who have been building large-scale power infrastructure across Texas for years, have recently been expanding into AI and high-performance computing (HPC) businesses," adding, "Improvements in the grid connection process could positively impact the expansion of these companies' data center businesses."
