Illia Polosukhin, co-founder of NEAR Protocol, recently drew a line against the community's proposal to burn foundation-held tokens, stating that simple burning is a highly inefficient method. He said, "In the past, other Layer 1 chains have decided to burn foundation tokens, but it did not bring real and specific benefits to the market or ecosystem." He revealed that instead of a one-time burn, they plan to adopt a method of fixing the token's maximum supply, similar to Bitcoin.
