Dismissed ex officio on the 15th... Blue House: "Difficult to confirm personnel matters"
Amidst the sudden dismissal of Yeo Han-gu, Head of Trade Negotiations for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, on the 15th, a high-ranking government official stated, "It is unrelated to the Korea-US tariff negotiations."
The official made this remark in response to a Yonhap News inquiry asking about the reason for Director Yeo's ex officio dismissal.
It is more likely that personal matters unrelated to work, rather than Korea-US trade issues, had an influence.
However, a Blue House official refrained from commenting on related inquiries, saying, "It is difficult to confirm personnel matters."
Director Yeo also previously denied allegations of personal misconduct, stating they were "completely different from the actual facts" and that he would consider legal action.
Director Yeo was appointed as the Head of Trade Negotiations after the launch of the new government and has played a practical command role in major trade issues, including Korea-US tariff negotiations.
