Decrypt reported that the Ethereum Foundation has identified a large number of cases where North Korean-affiliated IT personnel infiltrated the cryptocurrency industry. Through a program conducted over approximately six months, the foundation identified about 100 North Korean-linked IT personnel, who were found to be involved in approximately 53 cryptocurrency projects. This activity was carried out through the ETH Rangers program, during which hundreds of security vulnerabilities were discovered and numerous countermeasures were implemented. Meanwhile, according to blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis, North Korean hackers stole approximately $2 billion worth of cryptocurrency last year.
