U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal sent a letter to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) under the Treasury Department, requesting information on Binance's regulatory compliance. According to Cointelegraph, he pointed out that "allegations are being raised that Binance's anti-money laundering measures are dangerously lax." Previously, Binance pleaded guilty to anti-money laundering and sanctions violations raised by U.S. regulators and paid a $4.3 billion fine. At the time, Binance signed an agreement that included compliance with U.S. authorities' monitoring and reporting requirements.
