U.S. President Trump
Due to the prolonged Iran war and deepening economic damage, U.S. President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to its lowest level since his second term began.
According to NBC News on the 20th (local time), the latest poll commissioned by NBC to the polling firm SurveyMonkey showed President Trump's approval rating at only 37%.
Negative evaluations of President Trump's handling of state affairs reached 63%, with 50% of respondents saying "very negative."
Two-thirds of respondents viewed President Trump's response to inflation and the Iran war negatively.
Only 32% of respondents viewed the response to inflation and cost of living issues positively, while 68% evaluated it negatively. The response "very negative" was 52%.
Public opinion on the Iran war was also negative.
54% of respondents rated the response to the Iran war as "very negative," and 13% responded "somewhat negative."
"Very positive" and "somewhat positive" were 19% and 14%, respectively.
61% of respondents said the U.S. should not take further military action against Iran, and only 23% said all options, including deploying ground troops, should be considered.
About two-thirds of respondents said gasoline prices were a problem for them and their families.
NBC noted that the poll results clearly showed the difficulties faced by the ruling Republican Party ahead of the midterm elections.
Positive evaluations of the Trump administration's performance among Republican supporters were 83%, a 4 percentage point decrease from the survey earlier this year.
However, support among staunch 'MAGA' (Make America Great Again) supporters remained solid.
87% of respondents who identified as MAGA supporters supported President Trump's handling of the war.
This poll was conducted online among 32,433 U.S. adults from the 30th of last month to the 13th of this month, with a margin of error of ±1.8 percentage points.
