BeInCrypto reported that cryptocurrency scams targeting ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz are spreading. Greek maritime risk management firm MARISKS warned, "Some scammers are impersonating Iranian authorities and demanding Bitcoin and Tether (USDT) payments under the guise of 'safe passage approval'." It is presumed that this method exploits Iran's actual cryptocurrency toll policy, and cases of damage have already occurred. Currently, hundreds of ships and approximately 20,000 seafarers are isolated in the strait, raising concerns about potential harm.
