U.S. President Trump
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on the 21st (local time) that he would extend the truce until the Iranian leadership and negotiation delegation present a unified negotiation proposal.
In a statement posted on social media Truth Social, President Trump stated, "Based on the fact that the Iranian government is severely divided and at the request of Pakistan, I have received a request to suspend attacks until the Iranian leadership and delegation present a unified proposal."
President Trump further announced that he would extend the truce until Iran's proposal is submitted and discussions are concluded in either direction.
However, President Trump added that the naval blockade against Iran would continue, as would other readiness postures.
President Trump's truce declaration came the day before the '2-week truce' was set to expire. President Trump had previously stated that the 2-week truce with Iran would last until the evening of the 22nd, Eastern U.S. time.
