Entrance to the negotiation venue in Islamabad, Pakistan, still blocked on the 26th of last month
Iran's state news agency IRNA reported on the 1st (local time) that Iran has delivered a new negotiation proposal to mediator Pakistan to end the war with the United States.
According to the report, Iran delivered the full text of the negotiation proposal to Pakistan the previous night.
IRNA added that Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized in a media interview the previous day that "the top priority in negotiations with the United States is ending the war and achieving lasting peace."
The United States and Iran held their first talks to end the war in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, on the 11th of last month, but failed to reach an agreement.
Since then, both sides have explored the possibility of a second round of talks through Pakistan, but it has not yet materialized.
Throughout this period, both sides have repeatedly rejected each other's proposed negotiation terms and put forward counter-proposals.
