An X user (@cprkrn) announced that they successfully recovered a BTC wallet that had been locked for over 11 years using Claude AI. The user uploaded computer files from their college days to Claude AI and retrieved 5 BTC stored in the wallet. Claude discovered encrypted wallet data within the saved files, then analyzed and fixed issues in the open-source recovery tool btcrecover to support private key decryption. Subsequently, it also succeeded in converting the key into Wallet Import Format (WIF). He stated that he had previously used several commercial recovery services but failed even after paying approximately $250.
