Vice President Vance arrives in Islamabad
The American daily New York Times (NYT) reported that US Vice President JD Vance is continuing negotiations with Iran even past 4 AM on the 12th local time in Pakistan (8 AM on the 12th KST).
The NYT reported that the negotiations, which began on the 11th, have been ongoing for over 15 hours, and the White House is not providing specific information on the progress of the talks.
Reporters accompanying the US delegation in Islamabad also quoted a senior White House official as saying that negotiations have continued for over 15 hours.
The NYT reported that the US delegation entered the Serena Hotel in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan and the negotiation venue, shortly after noon on the 11th, and reporters have not seen Vice President Vance or other senior officials.
Previously, the Iranian government stated via X that "the talks between the US and Iran, mediated by Pakistan, concluded after 14 hours," adding that "working teams from both sides are currently exchanging professional documents."
They added, "While some differences remain, negotiations will continue." Iranian state media reported that negotiations would continue on Sunday, the 12th.
President Trump visited a golf course on the morning of the 11th, then stayed at the White House before traveling to Miami, Florida, to watch a UFC match.
