Despite a decline in performance due to a sharp drop in cryptocurrency trading volume, most major domestic exchanges actually increased their advertising and promotional expenses, Yonhap Infomax reported. According to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system on the 17th, the combined advertising and promotional expenses of the five major virtual asset exchanges, including Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit, and Gopax, totaled approximately 100 billion won, an increase of 74% from the previous year (approximately 57.4 billion won). Among these, four exchanges, excluding Korbit, all increased their advertising spending. The most notable is Dunamu, the operator of Upbit. Dunamu's advertising and promotional expenses last year surged to 61.9 billion won, 2.5 times that of 2024 (25 billion won). It reclaimed the industry's top spot, which it had ceded to Bithumb (28.5 billion won) in 2024, in just one year. Bithumb's advertising expenses last year were 36 billion won.
