World (formerly Worldcoin), the iris-scan identity verification-based cryptocurrency project co-founded by Sam Altman, has upgraded its World ID system. According to CoinDesk, the core of this update is a redesigned architecture to improve privacy, security, and ease of use, adding new features such as on-chain identity verification, multi-key support, and recovery mechanisms. World also plans to launch a dedicated World ID app, currently available in beta. The project stated, "World ID is a complete human authentication infrastructure that can verify whether someone is a real person across consumers, businesses, and AI agents without exposing personal information."
