Long-term forecasts suggest that Ripple could emerge as the 'ultimate winner' in global payment infrastructure, transcending its role as a simple cryptocurrency company, fueling both market expectations and debate.
According to the cryptocurrency media outlet Bitcoinist on April 18 (local time), analysis suggests that 30% to 50% of major XRP (Ripple) holders are likely to sell a portion of their holdings if the price reaches $10. This is because it is considered a 'life-changing' profit level for many investors.
Cryptocurrency analyst Jake Clayver presented a scenario in which Ripple will establish itself as a core company in global payment and banking infrastructure within the next 15 years. He evaluated that Ripple could grow into an 'Amazon-like entity' in the payment and financial infrastructure sector, citing its recent aggressive acquisition strategy as a key basis.
Ripple is rapidly expanding its business by successively acquiring cash management platform GTreasury, prime brokerage firm Hidlroad, stablecoin issuance and management companies, and Ripple Custody, which integrates Metaco and Standard Custody. This structure leads to the analysis that it is already performing the role of 'backend infrastructure' for global payment and settlement systems.
Clayver compared Ripple's current trajectory to Amazon's early investment strategy. Just as Amazon proactively built logistics and infrastructure before the market fully recognized the need, Ripple is also preemptively building payment networks, custody, and liquidity systems. Indeed, institutional investors are reportedly strongly inclined to maintain a holding strategy rather than short-term selling, based on this long-term vision.
However, the behavior of individual investors may differ. It is estimated that approximately 250,000 people worldwide hold more than 3,000 XRP, and analysis suggests that a significant number are likely to realize profits if the price reaches $10. This is identified as a variable that could act as supply pressure during the upward trend.
Ultimately, Ripple's future is evaluated to depend not on simple price appreciation but on its transformation into a 'financial infrastructure company.' While it remains uncertain whether this vision will materialize by 2040, current acquisition strategies and business expansion clearly indicate this direction.
