Tether has unveiled a customized modular mining system, presenting a strategy to change the very structure of Bitcoin mining.
According to the investment media outlet FXStreet on April 28 (local time), stablecoin issuer Tether has unveiled a new customized computing-based mining infrastructure in collaboration with Bitcoin (BTC) mining equipment manufacturer Canaan and Swiss project management company ACME Swisstech. The system is designed to improve efficiency, scalability, and cost control.
The core of this system is its shift from traditional all-in-one mining equipment to a hash board module-centric structure. Tether explained that it maximized performance by integrating purpose-built hash board modules into its own infrastructure, combining them with a thermal management system and software stack. This allows for individual component upgrades without replacing the entire equipment.
A notable feature is the separate design of computing, power, and cooling systems. Each element can be optimized independently, aiming for both energy cost reduction and performance improvement simultaneously. Immersion Cooling technology is applied to efficiently control heat generation and allow real-time performance adjustments according to the mining environment.
Operators can now achieve flexible operations tailored to specific situations, thanks to the ability to replace individual components and expand gradually. Tether stated that it is currently developing additional cooling systems, suggesting that future mining optimization will expand to suit regional conditions. CEO Paolo Ardoino emphasized that this structure allows direct control over costs, efficiency, and performance.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin was trading at approximately $76,000 at the same time, continuing its downward trend from its recent high of $79,486. The Fear & Greed Index, which reflects market sentiment, dropped to 33 from 47 the previous week. In the short term, $75,000 was suggested as a key support level, and $80,000 as a critical resistance level to determine whether the upward trend continues.
