Aave (AAVE) has filed an emergency motion with a federal court, requesting the lifting of an order that froze approximately $73 million worth of Ethereum related to the KelpDAO attack. According to The Block, this challenges the May 1 (local time) order that prevented Arbitrum (ARB) from moving the recovered funds. Aave countered that these claims are based on unproven speculation that the KelpDAO attack was carried out by the North Korean hacking group Lazarus Group. Even if that were true, they argue that temporarily possessing stolen assets does not imply ownership. Aave founder Stani Kulechov emphasized, "A thief cannot own what they have stolen. These funds belong to the victims who were robbed. There is no room for further debate."
