While XRP (Ripple) has been confined to a box range near $1.40 for several months, an artificial intelligence (AI) prediction of a short-term decline is increasing market tension.
According to the cryptocurrency media outlet Finbold on May 8 (local time), the Finbold AI agent predicted that the XRP price could fall by 1.68% over the next 7 days, reaching $1.37 by May 15. The AI system derived its prediction using several large language models (LLMs), including Claude Opus 4.6, DeepSeek Chat, and Grok 4.1.
The outlet explained that the AI conducted its analysis based on key technical indicators such as the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD), Relative Strength Index (RSI), and 50-day and 200-day Simple Moving Averages (SMA). In particular, a slowdown in XRP demand and a general decrease in altcoin market adoption were analyzed as factors influencing the bearish outlook.
Selling pressure was also detected in on-chain data. Finbold reported that investors have been moving XRP to exchanges to liquidate their holdings for several months. According to data released by X user Chachakobe4er (@Chachakobe4er), XRP holdings on Upbit and Binance increased by 82,142 and 1,952,177 respectively in the last 24 hours.
Technically, XRP has maintained a sideways trend within a symmetrical triangle pattern after losing its key support level of $1.80 in 2025. The outlet diagnosed that with the recent price nearing the apex of the triangle, the direction could be determined within as early as a week. If the support level is broken downwards, further correction could become more likely, aligning with the AI's bearish outlook.
Conversely, if XRP breaks above the upper resistance line of the symmetrical triangle and establishes itself, the medium-term bearish outlook could be invalidated, with $1.50 suggested as the next target price.
