Crypto mixing protocol Tornado Cash is drawing attention again during the U.S. Senate Banking Committee's markup of the Clarity Act, according to Eleanor Terrett, host of Crypto in America. U.S. Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren, an opponent of cryptocurrency, stated during the markup to Senator John Kennedy, "The Clarity Act is a Tornado problem. Do you remember that mixer? What was Tornado Cash used for? It was used by terrorists to put money in." Terrett explained, "Republican senators are arguing that the Clarity Act can solve illicit money laundering problems, but Warren is saying that the bill is not enough."
