According to The Block, the hosting of 'Cardano Summit 2026', which was being promoted by the Cardano Foundation, has been canceled. This is because the on-chain budget proposal vote secured only 65.21% support, falling short of the 66.67% passing threshold by just 1.46%p, and was ultimately rejected. The proposal requested approximately $2 million (7.8 million ADA) for summit operating costs but failed to pass the community vote. The hosting plan has been completely scrapped. However, EMURGO's separately submitted proposal for 'TOKEN2049' sponsorship support passed the vote, and related promotional activities are expected to proceed without a hitch. The industry evaluated this rejection as an example demonstrating that Cardano's on-chain governance is effectively functioning.
