Binance founder Changpeng Zhao stated in a podcast interview that quantum computing is not fatal to Bitcoin and can be resolved with a quantum-resistant cryptographic upgrade. Regarding the approximately 1 million Bitcoins believed to be owned by Satoshi Nakamoto, he said, "Inaction is not the right approach," and suggested that after a quantum-resistant upgrade, a period of 6 to 12 months should be given, and if no transfers occur, these coins should be excluded (frozen) from circulation via a new protocol. He emphasized, "If no action is taken, an unfair situation could arise in the future where the first entity to hack the wallet with a quantum computer monopolizes them," adding, "However, the final disposition must go through a consensus mechanism such as a community vote."
