As the U.S. small and medium-cap index, the Russell 2000, approaches its all-time high, bullish expectations for XRP are once again rapidly rising.
According to reports from a virtual asset specialized media on April 9 (local time), an analysis suggests that the strong upward trend of the Russell 2000 could stimulate risk asset preference, positively impacting the overall altcoin market, including XRP.
The Russell 2000 has recently continued its rebound rally and entered a recovery phase towards its peak. As this index is mainly composed of small and medium-sized growth stocks, it is considered a representative indicator reflecting the market's 'risk preference'. Indeed, the Russell 2000 has recently shown a trend of attempting to break out of a correction phase by continuing its short-term upward trend.
The market is paying attention to the correlation between this index and virtual assets. According to analysis, the Russell 2000 and the altcoin market have shown a tendency for their trends to align, with major peaks and troughs in the past forming at similar times. In particular, it is explained that a pattern of both markets rising simultaneously when funds move into risk assets has been repeated.
XRP is also evaluated to be moving in conjunction with this trend. Some analyses predict that XRP's price structure is developing similarly to the Russell 2000's long-term pattern, and if the index breaks its peak, XRP could also enter a strong upward phase.
However, a divergence between the two markets is currently observed. While the Russell 2000 is already showing a strong upward trend, some altcoins have not yet shown a full-fledged rebound. This is interpreted as a signal suggesting that funds may first flow into traditional financial markets, and then move into virtual assets.
Ultimately, the key variable is 'fund movement'. If risk asset preference continues, expectations are growing that the upward trend started by the Russell 2000 could spread to the altcoin market, including XRP. Conversely, if the stock market rise is temporary, this scenario also has the potential to be quickly nullified.
Market participants are currently monitoring whether the Russell 2000 will break its peak, and are assessing whether to interpret this as a precursor to an XRP bull market.
