OKX founder Xu Mingxing (Star) rejected Binance founder Changpeng Zhao's '$1 billion (1.5 trillion won) bet' proposal via X. The bet proposal came after Xu Mingxing raised doubts about Changpeng Zhao's marital status (divorce). Xu Mingxing cited 'OKX's compliance culture and UAE regulations, which do not permit gambling' as the reason for his refusal. He asserted, 'I have no interest in Changpeng Zhao's private life, but I have the right to correct false information related to me that he has spread in his autobiography and interviews, misleading the public.' He further pointed out, 'The division of assets, including company shares, resulting from a 20-year marriage, is a legal obligation and a fundamental ethical responsibility. Failure to fulfill such obligations raises questions about the individual's credibility and morality.'
