▲ Solana (SOL)
Solana (SOL) has been named the top candidate to create the most millionaires in this cryptocurrency cycle, while XRP has been evaluated as a strong contender capable of generating the highest returns among major cryptocurrencies if regulatory issues are resolved.
According to 24/7 Wall St. on May 30 (local time), the 2021 bull market created over 150,000 crypto millionaires, and by mid-2025, that number had grown to 241,700. This represents a 40% increase in one year, with Bitcoin (BTC) alone producing over 145,000 millionaires.
24/7 Wall St. analyzed that while Bitcoin, Solana, XRP, and Ethereum (ETH) have all secured ETF products, institutional funds, and mainstream adoption trends, their potential for creating millionaires differs by asset. Bitcoin, currently around $73,500, would need to rise to approximately $7.35 million to turn a $10,000 investment into $1 million, which is considered far from a realistic outlook for 2026. However, as approximately 60% of crypto millionaires and 17 out of 36 crypto billionaires have accumulated wealth through Bitcoin, it is regarded as a representative asset for preserving wealth after it has been created.
XRP was presented as the most notable millionaire candidate, depending on regulatory clarity. The U.S. cryptocurrency market structure bill passed the Senate Banking Committee on May 14 with a bipartisan vote of 15-9, which is a key premise for Standard Chartered's forecast of XRP reaching $28 by 2030. A rise from the current $1.34 to $28 would represent approximately a 20x return, potentially turning a $50,000 investment close to $1 million. While the XRP ETF recorded 43 consecutive days of inflows in Q1 2026, 24/7 Wall St. noted that this scenario could weaken if the bill does not pass the full Senate.
Solana was evaluated as the candidate with the greatest upside potential among the four assets. VanEck set a bullish target price of $3,211 for Solana by 2030, which represents an approximately 38x increase from its current price. If this target price materializes, a current investment of $26,500 could grow to approximately $1 million. Solana generated $2.85 billion in revenue from October 2024 to September 2025, based on DeFi, trading, AI applications, and memecoins, and the planned Alpenglow upgrade is presented as a foundation to significantly increase transaction speeds, allowing it to compete with the fastest blockchains.
Ethereum is less likely to create the most new millionaires in this cycle but is valued as a long-term compounding asset with the distinct advantage of staking rewards. Approximately 30% of all ETH is staked with over 1 million validators, and holders can earn annual returns ranging from 2.8% to 3.5%. From its current level of around $2,012, Ethereum's price would need to rise to approximately $200,000 to turn a $10,000 investment into $1 million, and even the institutional bullish forecast of $7,500 represents only a 3x to 4x increase from the current price. 24/7 Wall St. concluded that Solana has the highest potential to create the most new millionaires, XRP can generate the strongest returns when regulatory conditions align, and Bitcoin and Ethereum are better suited for wealth preservation and long-term compounding growth, respectively.
